The reason Maggie choose to go to Chile was because she wanted to have an experience her own without knowing anyone so she went there by herself, even the program was outside of Pacific. She thinks the pace of life in Chile is very slow and it fits her. While she was in Chile, she got robbed twice, she was a perfect target because she looked like a foreigner, but she says Chile is not dangerous than any big cities in the US. Her idea of American culture was changed through study abroad. She feels more stress and pressure here. Because of the small salary, one of her professors taught at two different universities, so she had to get on a bus to get the school to ask some questions, and they don't even have an office, or office hours. She says, experiencing different cultures, and putting yourself in different situations is very important.
